MMTS – Series-Parallel Circuit Trainer Kit

Magnetic Mat Electrical Training System

The MMTS – Series-Parallel Circuit Trainer Kit is a comprehensive Magnetic Mat Electrical Training System built to teach foundational electrical concepts in a hands-on, visual way. Using real-world automotive-style nodes, students explore simple circuits, Ohm’s Law, and the relationship between series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits—all while developing diagnostic skills through intentional faults and live testing.

This kit is ideal for beginning students or those needing a refresher before advancing into ECU-based or computer-controlled circuit systems.

Key Features:

  • Foundational Learning: Build student confidence by exploring basic circuit theory before introducing complex electronics.

  • Visual, Hands-On Engagement: Students physically wire circuits using automotive-style components on magnetic mats—no soldering required.

  • Fault-Based Diagnostics: Nearly every node (excluding the fuse) can be set to a fault condition, allowing instructors to challenge students with realistic problems.
These repeatable fault scenarios reinforce voltage drop testing, circuit analysis, and critical thinking in troubleshooting.

  • Flexible Curriculum Delivery: Canvas-based course content includes instructional videos, practice exercises, and auto-graded quizzes for streamlined classroom management.

  • Built for the Classroom: Durable storage and labeling make it easy to deploy, pack up, and transport—perfect for high school, college, or technical programs.

MMTS – ECU Turn Signal Trainer Kit

Magnetic Mat Electrical Training System

The MMTS – ECU Turn Signal Trainer Kit is a hands-on Magnetic Mat Electrical Training System designed to help students understand how modern automotive lighting circuits function—including how an ECU responds to various inputs and controls outputs. This kit focuses on turn signal operation and gives students a real-world look at both power-side and ground-side switching using automotive-style components.

Key Features:

  • Real-World Circuit Training: Teach students how ECUs interact with switches and loads through hands-on exploration.

  • Switching Concepts Made Clear: Demonstrates both power-side and ground-side switching, a foundational concept in modern vehicle electronics.

  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Practice:
Every node in the kit (except the fuse) can be set to a fault state, allowing instructors to introduce electrical issues and guide students through realistic diagnostic scenarios.
Repeating the same circuits with different fault conditions helps students master voltage drop testing and develop critical thinking skills in electrical diagnostics.

  • Auto-Graded Curriculum: The included Canvas course features automatically graded quizzes, giving instructors real-time insights into student progress while freeing them up to provide personalized troubleshooting guidance.

  • Magnetic Mat Design: Durable, visual mats make circuit layout intuitive and repeatable.

  • Classroom Ready: Comes fully packed in a Milwaukee Packout with labeled storage, tools, and a guided curriculum.

Educational Relay Diagnostic Module
$150.00

We accept purchase orders for our services. For a quote, please contact scott@sbctrainingllc.com.

Product Description:

Designed for instructors and students who want a clear, hands-on approach to relay diagnostics, this standalone module is a powerful addition to the MMTS-based training system. Housed in a rugged, classroom-ready enclosure with embedded magnets, it securely mounts to any ferrous surface without requiring additional brackets or hardware.

The front panel includes a clear schematic view and a built-in observation window, allowing students to see the internal movement of the relay during operation. Integrated banana jacks offer fast, tool-free connections, while clearly labeled test points provide easy access for measuring voltage, diagnosing faults, or tracing signal paths.

A custom-built internal circuit board allows instructors to quickly insert realistic electrical faults—such as open circuits or high-resistance connections—on both the coil side and the switch side of the relay. It’s the perfect tool for reinforcing voltage drop testing and real-world troubleshooting strategies.

🔎 Note: This product includes only the relay module.
For a complete training setup including protective storage and a schematic mat, see the Relay Kit Add-On.

Features:

  • Built-in magnets allow the module to mount firmly to MMTS schematic mats or any ferrous surface for convenient use is classroom or lab settings.

  • Front-facing schematic with viewing window to observe relay operation

  • Quick-connect banana jacks for easy wiring and test lead access

  • Internal fault-insertion board for creating open or high-resistance faults

  • Optimized for repeatable, real-world diagnostic practice

Each unit is manufactured in the United States, with select components sourced globally to ensure quality and long-term reliability.
